Jonel Juste, a journalist, poet, and short story writer, boasts a career spanning over 20 years. As a journalist, he has lent his talents to numerous newspapers and magazines in Haiti and the United States, including notable publications such as Vues d'Haïti, Le Matin, HPN, Le Nouvelliste, Le Floridien, and Miami Times. He has been writing for Artburst Miami since 2020. His literary journey took root at the Juștin Lhérisson Library in Carrefour, Haiti, illuminating his early affinity for writing. With an extensive literary portfolio, Juste has nearly ten published works, featuring poetry, short stories, and essays in French, Haitian Creole, and English. Some noteworthy titles include "Carrefour de Nuit," "Solèy, Solèy," “Astres et Desastres,” "I loved you before I knew your name” (poems), "The Watch" (short stories), and "Haitian Hip Hop: From Top to Bottom" (an essay).
