about Megan Fitzgerald

Megan Fitzgerald is a writer and associate professor of communication at Nova Southeastern University, where she directs the undergraduate communication program and advises Mako Media, NSU’s student-run media outlet. She has taught journalism and communication courses for more than 20 years and has been on the NSU faculty since 2008, with a focus on storytelling, reporting and media writing. Her arts and entertainment writing has appeared in Artburst, BAJA (Broward Arts Journalism Alliance), Miami New Times, OutClique, Out South Florida, and Pulse! magazine. She holds a doctorate in communication from Florida State University, a master’s degree in journalism from Syracuse University and a bachelor’s degree in communication from Stonehill College in Massachusetts.
