Person with most Facebook shares of Marine Stadium Mural Project flyer gets in free

Celebrities Gloria Estefan and king of the Parrotheads Jimmy Buffet have thrown their monetary support behind saving and re-building Miami’s beloved waterfront jewel, the Miami Marine Stadium. Now the Friends of the Miami Marine Stadium are throwing an artistic soiree on Sept. 20 to continue their fundraising efforts to restore the venue.

Getting into the venue is virtually impossible, given that the graffiti-covered stadium is heavily policed but on Saturday, Sept. 20 the public will have the opportunity to see eight renowned street and mural artists as they create new pieces, take a tour of the abandoned stadium, and take home a special photographic print of pieces created as part of this Art/History Mural Project.

Confirmed artists in attendance that day include internationally known Ron English, The London Police, and Logan Hicks, along with Crash,Tristan Eaton, Reinier Gamboa, Jose Mertz, and Johnny Robles. Capturing the action as it unfolds will be award-winning photojournalist Martha Cooper, best known for documenting the New York graffiti scene of the 1970s and 1980s and videographer Tom Akerman, whose video will be released later in the year.

Tours of the venue are set for 2:00 and 4:00 p.m. and although the event is sold out, there’s a Facebook competition where the person with most shares of this flyer gets in for free.
