Cannonball Residency Application Deadline Aug. 4

The Open Call for Applications for Cannonball’s 2015 Local Residency ends at 5:00 p.m. on August 4. That’s the last chance artists of all disciplines including curators, museum professionals, scholars, and other cultural producers from the music and dance world currently based in Miami-Dade County to put their names in the pool for residency in Cannonball’s facility.

The 11.5 month residency lasts from January 5 to December 20, 2015. Those chosen will live and work in the facility for that duration. They will receive a subsidized private 600-square-foot live/work studio, complimentary Internet access, all utilities, and one on-street parking space.

Those who are chosen for a residency will share the floor that includes a full kitchen, laundry facilities, laundry facilities, and dining and lounge areas. Each studio is single occupancy with no pets allowed. Residents pay a subsidized rent of $450 for all these amenities.

The selection committee includes Amanda Sanfilippo, development associate at Locust Projects and Cannonball Residency alumna; Jose Carlos Diaz, curator of exhibitions at Bass Museum of Art; and Glexis Novoa, artist and Cannonball board member.

Winners will be notified on Sept. 1, 2014. Go to this link to apply or contact Cannonball Artistic Director Gean Moreno at gean@cannonballmiami.org or at 786-347-2360.
