ScreenDance Call For Films: Submission deadline Sept. 1

Miami-based choreographers, dancers, and filmmakers interested in submitting their experimental concepts of dance on film for Tigertail’s ScreenDance Miami have until September 1 to get in their submissions in online.

They should also take advantage of the of the July workshops hosted at Inkub8 in Wynwood to help them with their films. Inkub8 is an alternative space that serves as a laboratory for creating new works that incorporate movement, dance-theater and sound-art as contemporary emerging hybrid forms. ScreenDance Miami returns January 22-25, 2015. The festival was created to support professionals in the field and support the development of dance created for the camera. It is curated by Marissa Alma Nick and supports new and emerging concepts that capture dance created specifically for film. The festival supports the development and greater public awareness of this new form of artistic expression. With Tigertail’s support, ScreenDance Miami reveals a new way of creating and experiencing movement.

The festival also provides artists with extensive support through a series of workshops, Webinars, and panel discussions that run concurrently with the festival.
