about Mike Hamersly

Music has been a central force in Mike Hamersly’s life since childhood, when he discovered The Beatles and started a band with his best friends. Dreams of rock stardom didn’t quite work out, but after starting out as a copy editor in 1996, he soon began writing about pop, rock, jazz, hip-hop and electronic music for The Miami Herald. Since then, he has written hundreds of arts and entertainment stories featuring interviews with a diverse group of artists including Adam Levine, George Michael, Ringo Starr, Bonnie Raitt, Boy George, Chaka Khan, Gloria Estefan, George Benson, Daft Punk, Underworld, Jack Black, Jerry Seinfeld, Jay Leno, Will Ferrell, Steve Martin and George Carlin.
