As “two fairs under one roof,” Spectrum Miami and Red Dot Miami will return to the Mana Wynwood Convention Center on November 30th and December 4th. The twin fair will display artworks from galleries, publishers, emerging or established artists. This annual cultural event will also feature live demonstrations, special exhibits, and street art installations.

It’s Miami Art Week, and art lovers from all over the world are flocking to the Magic City to enjoy the exhibitions, the artworks, and everything else around it. Many aficionados come back every year to discover the new trends in art, to marvel at human creativity, to be amazed by ways in which we are able to reinvent ourselves.

Miami is known for its nightlife, beaches, parties, and so on, but it’s also an art city. The city has been hosting for two decades one of the biggest art fairs in the world, Art Basel, and its satellite fairs in what is now known as Miami Art Week. It’s the celebration of the arts, colors and creativity, Miami-style.

“Miami has done a remarkable job of building Miami Art Week over multiple decades,” indicates Linda Mariano, Managing Director of Marketing for Redwood Art Group, the host of Spectrum Miami and Red Dot fairs.

“Miami Art Week is the largest art event in the world, and it’s very important for artists and fairs like us to be there. It’s incredible how Miami has created this art week and turned it into a forum where the entire city focuses on art,” she says.

Spectrum Miami and Red Dot have played their part over the years in turning the Magic City into an art destination. In keeping with their longstanding tradition, the twin fairs bring art from all over the world to Miamians and visitors alike.

For 5 days, Spectrum Miami and Red Dot Miami will offer a “Two Fairs Under One Roof” experience for both exhibitors and art enthusiasts. The event, announce the organizers, will cover more than 150,000 square feet of indoor exhibition space, all within walking distance of Wynwood’s restaurants, bars, and retail boutiques.

Redwood Art Group touts the fairs as the “ultimate destination for the fine art industry professional and contemporary art enthusiast who collectively seek a more accessible experience with exhibits showcasing the world’s most progressive portfolios by some of today’s elite artists, galleries, dealers, and emerging talents.”

Each art fair has however its own specialty. “Spectrum Miami allows visitors to see the whole spectrum. So, the exhibitors in this fair might be a gallery, an art publisher, or they might be independent, unrepresented artists or emerging artists. Alternatively, Red Dot, Miami, focuses on galleries and well-established artists,” says Redwood Art Group’s Managing Director of Marketing.

And what better place to do so than Wynwood?

“Wynwood is an art district, it’s a cultural center of Miami. And it’s been that way for many years”, says Linda Mariano. “In the more recent past, it’s been developed so that now it has restaurants, hotels, as well as a very thriving art gallery and art focus throughout the district. It really is a perfect place to come and host a couple of art fairs during Miami Art Week.”

“We’re excited to return to Mana Wynwood for what is anticipated to be a phenomenal Miami Art Week,” says Eric Smith, president of Redwood Art Group.

“This year, he continues, we are taking over the entire space at the Mana Wynwood convention center, to offer attendees and exhibitors our largest experience to-date. We will be showcasing an even broader range of the best the fine art and contemporary art industry has to offer.”

As always, the Miami and Florida exhibitors will be present. Many of Miami’s finest galleries will be exhibiting there. International exhibitors are coming back this year without the threat of COVID, and most of the travel restrictions being lifted.

A variety of live demonstrations, special exhibits, street art installations, pop art, and urban art will be on display. Among the special exhibits, the National Elephant Parade, for the first time on the East Coast. Spectrum features the works of more than 200 exhibiting galleries and artists from the Florida region, the U.S. and around the globe. In Red Dot Miami, over 65 galleries represent over 500 leading contemporary artists from a variety of markets across the globe.

According to Pablo Contrisciani, an Argentinian artist living in Miami, Miami Art Week exhibits a level of quality and quantity that rivals museums. “You have the best in contemporary and modern visual art,” says the artist presenting the “Never-ending Ying Yang” installation at Red Dot Miami.

“It is a great opportunity for all the exhibiting artists to have their work seen for a big number of people that come to Miami specially for this event, excited to see art, to buy art, to know about art.”

“Since Miami Art Week coincides with Art Basel Miami, there’s a synergy of energy and passion you feel all over the city,” indicates John Arena, aka Guitar Pick Artist.

“I am excited to immerse myself into all that Miami Art Week has to offer: the art, fashion, music, food and all the sights and sounds!” concludes the artist who, in partnership with ArtBlend, will display several mosaics, made entirely of guitar picks of his favorite music icons, including David Bowie, Jimi Hendrix, Slash and The Rolling Stones.

“Their music has touched so many people in profound ways, I believe my art will evoke impactful memories for those who see the pieces.”
