Artists Looking for Grants? Here Are Some Resources

In these uncertain times and dwindling funding support for the arts, finding grants to continue creating is more vital than ever. With that in mind, we sought out some available resources for grants.
Knight Emerging City Champions
Knight Foundation
The micro-grant and fellowship program is open to 18 to 35-year-old civic innovators committed to building vibrant neighborhoods and cities. Applicants should demonstrate how their project will foster creative expression, enhance community connection and build community resilience. Winners receive $5,000 in seed funding for their idea, a $500 tech bundle to support their project activities, access to ongoing mentorship, training and peer support and a three-day trip to Toronto to attend the KECC Studio and propose their idea.

Artist Registry Housing and Community Development
Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs
Art in Public Places
Open to South Florida-based visual artists, the Miami-Dade County Department of Housing and Community Development seeks 25 to 30 regional artists to create artwork proposals for affordable, workforce, and elderly housing planned throughout Miami-Dade County. The artists’ shortlist is subject approval by the Art in Public Places Trust and will remain active for a minimum of one year from the approval. Shortlist artists selected will be invited to develop proposals for one or more facilities throughout that one year in smaller groups of 5 to 7 artists each. The selection of artists, along with a schedule of proposal development and presentations, will be defined per each specific housing project.
Deadline is Tuesday, April 22 at 11:59 p.m.

Lincoln Road Business Improvement District (BID)
Open Artist Call
Open to emerging and established local, national or international professional artists, artists are asked to design, deliver, and install a temporary art piece to be exhibited beginning in December for 2025 Miami Art Week and extending into 2026. $75,000 will be awarded to one artist or a collective group of artists. Miami-Dade County Commissioner workshops are presented as part of the Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs’ “Art Energize 305” to inform artists, arts groups and nonprofit organizations about grants available in each district.

Artist Access (ART) Grants Program
Miami-Dade County and FUNDarte sponsor a program that provides assistance to Miami-Dade practicing, professional artists to further their practice through skill building workshops, residencies, master classes, conferences, teaching artist and leadership training. $2,000 maximum request, application deadline is June 2, 2025, and funding period is June through Sept. 30, 2025.

South Arts
The Atlanta-based organization is accepting grant applications for their Southern Arts Relief & Recovery Fund for artists affected by Hurricane Helen and/or Milton and the Jazz Road Tours grants which offer up to $15,000 to develop music tours across the country. Deadline for each is May 7.
They also offer up to a $1,000 Professional Development and Artistic Planning Grant to presenters, programmers and curators on an ongoing basis.
