Get Ready For ‘The Reset’ at MOCA North Miami

The Museum of Contemporary Art is hosting what they are calling “The Reset” on Saturday, Nov. 16.

It’s an invitation to break from the usual weekend routines and join a transformative, free community gathering focused on joy, healing, and social change. The event offers an opportunity to pause, reflect, and reconnect with oneself and others, all while engaging in a day dedicated to restoration, according to organizers. From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., activities focused on nurturing well-being, sparking creativity, and fostering collective inspiration will take over the museum grounds.

Wellness offerings include yoga, reiki, herbalism, and sound healing with live music by DJ FlyGuy, the soulful harmonies of The People’s Choir, and the rhythmic sounds of bomba y plena performed by Jacareo.

There is also the chance to create art with hands-on arts making stations and to view interactive art installations.

Aurora Colindres, the founder of Power for Good Consulting, who created the restorative day, describes “The Reset” in three words: “We. Got. Us.” Colindres says the words embody the event’s mission to provide a sanctuary for those who have been pouring into others, offering a chance to recharge and be reminded that no matter where life may feel lacking, the collective strength of the community is always there to uplift.

For Colindres, the gathering is about creating an environment where people can truly relax, find joy, and express themselves freely. “It’s about seeing people dance, laugh, and share in the energy of a like-minded community that believes in the power of love, self- care, and justice,” she explains.

Also included will be guided tours of Smita Sen’s solo exhibition now on display at the museum.

Speakers include thought leaders former Senator Dwight Bullard and Ruth Jeannoel, the Founder and Executive Director of Fanm Saj in conversations that are meant to focus on how art and wellness intersect
to foster a broader movement for social justice.

“Come ready to receive,” encourages Colindres. “Take what you need from the day—whether it’s music, art, wellness services, or simply the joy of being surrounded by people who uplift you. This gathering not only celebrates the importance of taking care of ourselves but serves as a powerful reminder that when we nurture our well-being, we have more to give back to the people and communities around us.”
