Bombay Sapphire Artisan Series regional winners to be showcased at SCOPE during Art Basel

Now in its ninth year, the Bombay Sapphire Artisan Series, again collaborating with Artsy — the online publication and marketplace for art — is the opportunity of a lifetime for artists. Regional winners from across the United States and Canada will have their work showcased at SCOPE Miami Beach, one of the premier art events of Miami Art Week during Art Basel Miami, running Dec. 4-9.

It’s an opportunity for local artists to have their work viewed on a national and international level, both via the online voting on the Bombay Sapphire site and at SCOPE.

The collaboration between Artisan and Artsy provides emerging artists with a powerful platform to share their work with some of the best curators, collectors, and art enthusiasts in the world.

The regional finalists will compete in a juried exhibit at one of 13 Regional Gallery events, and one winner from each gallery event will advance and showcase their work at SCOPE. In addition, two online winners will also be featured at SCOPE. The Regional Finals will take place between August and October.

Those regional finalists will be chosen from 13 regions across North America – Atlanta, Chicago, Denver, Detroit, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, Montreal, New York, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Toronto, and Vancouver.

Then, during SCOPE Miami Beach, a panel of judges will review all the artwork at the event and select one Grand Prize Winner and one Second Place Prize Winner, based on the highest scores. In addition, attendees will be given an opportunity to select a People’s Choice Winner by votes.

The winners will be handsomely rewarded with a Grand Prize, a $10,000 stipend and collaboration with Artsy to create a public installation in New York City, set to debut sometime between May-October 2019. The Second Place Winner and People’s Choice Winner will each receive a $3,000 stipend to create a solo exhibit at a gallery in their region.

All Regional Finalists (excluding the 13 Regional Winners) and up to 100 Online Finalists, will be featured in the online voting pool. Online voting runs from 12:01 a.m. ET on August 22  through 11:59 p.m. ET on October 26. The winners will be announced on October 29.
