The Institute of Financial Wellness for the Arts (IFWA) recently announced its partnership with Faena Theater with the “Rock the Mic” live karaoke series at Faena’s 3,000 square-foot old-Hollywood style theater.

Kicking off on Monday, Nov. 18th at 7:30 p.m., Rock the Mic will celebrate the talents of Miami’s entertainment industry and give locals and visitors an unconventional karaoke experience where they take the stage and sing along to their favorite songs. The IFWA’s house band, led by Grammy Award-winning drummer and IFWA’s Director of Artist Relations Rees Bridges, will perform a variety of songs from different genres including Pop, R&B, Latin, Classic Rock, Country and more. Hosted by Latin musical artist Arias Martin, the evening will also feature eclectic tunes by DJette Kiwi, as well as a special performance by globally renowned magician and IFWA board member Alex Ramon.

Rock the Mic is free and open to the public with RSVP HERE.

Based in Fort Lauderdale, the IFWA was launched in 2018 to provide financial education and planning solutions to members of the arts and entertainment community nationwide – a community that has largely been underserved or ignored by the traditional financial services industry. To date, the organization has helped thousands of career artists – actors, dancers, musicians, and arts professionals – get the tools they need to plan a brighter financial future.

“We’re delighted to partner with the prestigious Faena Theater, which appreciates local arts and culture as much as we do,” said Darren Sussman, President of the IFWA. “We’re deeply invested in the long-term success of the arts community in South Florida, and have some remarkably talented and well-known artists on our Board and among our ‘alumni,’ so the partnership with Faena is all about merging our two worlds and creating a place where this community can come together regularly to collaborate and showcase their talents.”

“Faena and IFWA share a deep appreciation and respect for the arts, and this alignment allows us to combine resources to support an already-beloved event, Rock the Mic, and simultaneously celebrate the talent and diversity of the Miami arts and entertainment community,” said Alisha Talbot, Nightlife VIP Director at Faena Hotel Miami Beach.

Rock the Mic starts on Monday, November 18, 2019 and will be an ongoing addition to the Faena Theater schedule. More dates to be announced soon.
