Summer Calls: Artists Looking for Grants? Here’s What’s Available

In an effort to continually support artists and their work, here is information about open calls with deadlines for artists and resource links to check for available opportunities throughout the year.
The summer doldrums have hit but there are still grants available to artists and creatives.
Here is what we found:
Perez Art Museum Miami (PAMM)
Open Call for Digital Art Submissions
The program provides financial support to South Florida artists to produce experimental digital artworks. Original projects can be submitted during any phase of production and can include video art, augmented reality, film, net art, 3-D sculpture, video games, virtual reality and generative art. Awards range from $1,000 to $15,000 during an estimated 12-month period.
Application Deadline: Thursday, July 31, 2025, 11:59 p.m.

Miami Downtown Development Authority
Downtown Creative Collaborator Grant
The grant program aims to transform historic Downtown Miami through community-driven events that ignite Downtown’s streets, parks, and rooftops. The initiative supports projects that foster cultural and community engagement. Think pop-up performances, interactive installations, and family-friendly celebrations in unexpected places.
Application Deadline: Monday, Aug. 18, 2025, 11:59 p.m.

Deering Estate
Call to Artists: Artist-in-Residence Program
The AIRIE Program includes a Studio-Artist-in-Residence with studio space in the Carriage House and Non-Studio-Artist-in-Residence with access to the grounds, resources and partnership for a specific project and is open to professional artists working in visual, literary, performing and cross-disciplinary art. Studio residencies vary from 2 to 12 months and non-studio residencies can be scheduled as readings, workshops, online exhibits or performances.

Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs
Art in Public Places
Artists Call: Interiors and Bridge Activation Miami-Dade County Integrated Command and Communications Center at Lightspeed Facility
Artists may be commissioned to create new work but also an existing work may be purchased for the site. Artists submit their proposals using blueprints, maquettes, drawings, computer-generated images, and material samples along with a working budget for their project. An independent Professional Advisory Committee from the fields of art, art history, architecture and architectural history will review artist submissions and create a recommended short list to the Art in Public Places Trust from which the final decision is made.
Deadline: Monday, July 21, 2025, 11:59 p.m.

Locust Projects
Project Room Open Call
Artists are invited to apply for the space and resources available at Locust Projects in Little River to create large-scale new work in their 625-square-foot Project Room. Proposals are reviewed by a rotating jury of local, national, and international artists who have exhibited at Locust Projects and a local curator. Project proposal should include community engagement with the public through programs and activations. $5,000 maximum production and $3,100 artist fee to be used at artists discretion.
Deadline: Monday, July 28, 2025, 11:59 p.m.
